Kate O’Donovan: The Ducks pub in Aberlady is fab too. Dropped in there after walking with dogs from Musselburgh and they were very welcoming, bringing a water bowl without being asked, and didn’t mind a tired pooch sitting on the sofas in the lounge area. They have a bistro, fine dining restaurant, bar and lounge area – and rooms to stay in. And the rooms will take dogs too. Good beer was had and I am going back this weekend to have lunch after walking from North Berwick.
