East Lothian: Seacliff Beach
Seacliff Beach, Nr. North Berwick.
This one isn’t easy to find but worth it and you can get to it by car. It’s not far from Tantallon Castle.
Drive along A198 and take the turn onto the private farm road (Auldhame). Keep going until you come to the barrier. You will need to pay £3 per car to get through the barrier and down to the beach. It’s not the best road in the world and a bit bumpy but it’s only one way as the exit is via another way.
Please be aware that the barrier is unmanned and therefore if there are any problems with the coin machine or barrier then you may not be able to gain entry.

Sorry to hear that Sarah. I’ve updated the listing so that other people are aware. I’ve not had a problem with the barrier before but yes there isn’t anyone around if things go wrong!
