Review: Dog TV
I purchased a Roku smart TV box recently and while flicking through the channels discovered that “DOG TV” is available in the UK. I had heard of this being broadcast in the US but didn’t realise you can now get it in the UK. Dog TV is a channel for dogs, it’s as simple as that. It broadcasts content 24/7 and the idea is that the images and sounds on screen will help comfort your wee one when he’s in on his own. I thought this would be soothing music or sounds dogs like but the programmes I saw were of dogs running around.
Now, Bailie is a quiet wee dug, that is until he sees or hears the “telly dugs”. As soon as there is a sniff, scratch, pant, woof or even a hint of a telly dug then he’s up from his slumber and on high alert protecting the living room. So probably the last thing he needs during the day when he’s trying to sleep (he loves his kip) is for dogs to be barking at him from the telly. I will have another look to see if there is any Bailie friendly viewing for him but not sure if it will be a regular. Bailie normally has someone at home with him nowadays and if there isn’t we would normally send him to day care so he can run around with real life dugs at Barklay Park. It’s interesting but not sure if this will catch on in the UK. However, I guess each and every dug is different so what doesn’t work for Bailie may work well for another dug.
