A proper pub. They brought Bailie a bowl of water in an old fashioned glass ashtray, he then curled up by the fire and had a little nap. They always have things going on there, Quizzes, Singers, even Poker nights. The food is good and they always seem to have a special offer on the beers. Check out all the stacks of board games in the corner.

My fault I guess… I phoned to check they accept dogs… Yes. Forgot to ask about children…arrived for our dinner booking but had to leave as no children allowed in after 5pm. Looked like a nice place, and they were nice enough to let us buy a round of drinks and drink them before we had to leave. Not easy at 6pm with a hungry ( but v well behaved) 5 yr old.
Had a lovely lunch with my owners at The Antiquary in Stockbridge – lovely Avy even gave me a plate of sausages as I snoozed in front of the fire. Bliss – it would be a perfect way to have spent the afternoon, but we had to go shopping. The humans loved their lunch too!
Great to visit a pub which doesn’t merely tolerate dogs but positively welcomes them! Good hearty pub grub, Belhaven Best and Deuchars IPA on tap, friendly people, what’s not to like?
A warm welcome for us and our dogs Dill and Ruby at The Antiquary on St. Stephen Street, Edinburgh – very friendly landlady, good food, good beer and good fun at the Wednesday night pub quiz (we came third!). Thanks to Dugs n Pubs for the great tip. We’ll definitely be returning!
