If you wish to travel within the EU your dog must have:
- a microchip
- a rabies vaccination (your dog has to be microchipped prior to the vaccination.

There is no law which prevents dogs having access to any business premises as long as there are measures in place to prevent them from accessing any food storage or preparation areas.

Although it is not yet compulsory (as at July 2013), a microchip is a permanent way to ensure your dog can be identified if it was ever lost.

It’s surprising but according to a joint survey carried out by the Dogs Trust and the National Childbirth Trust (NCT), 46% of new parents found it difficult to cope with their dog and a new baby and 17% even considered giving up their dog when the baby arrived.
